Mr. Brad, The Art Dude

My career began in expanded learning programs, where I spent over 18 years leading the only fine arts–focused before and after school program in the Cajon Valley Union School District. During this time, I was frequently asked to take on unique roles, from running Saturday School programs to teaching art in Behavioral Intervention Classes (BIC) and day treatment classrooms through New Alternatives. These opportunities allowed me to develop a flexible, student-centered approach that makes art accessible and exciting—even for those who think they’re “not artistic.”
In 2022, I stepped away from district work to serve with a countywide non-profit supporting before and after-school programs. I provided training, curriculum, and direct art services to dozens of sites, helping programs spark creativity in their students and staff. This work gave me a broader view of how art enrichment can transform learning environments, whether in general education, special education, or behavioral support settings.
Now, as an independent art contractor, I combine all of these experiences to deliver dynamic, high-quality art programming. My classes emphasize exploration, problem-solving, and personal expression rather than “perfect projects.” Whether I’m guiding a small group of students, providing professional development for staff, or building a custom curriculum for a school site, my goal is always the same: to help people discover that creativity is for everyone—and that making art can be one of the best parts of their day.
